This year, in partnership with Nonesuch and Warner Bros. Records, NOAHH will present an evening with Spencer Ludwig and Chef Alon Shaya. The evening will offer music in a private residence with memorable food and great company.
About the Artists
Chef Alon Shaya is the James Beard Award-winning executive chef of Shaya, Domenica, and Pizza Domenica. His culinary creations have been lauded by Bon Appetit, Esquire, Southern Living, New Orleans Magazine, and the Times-Picayune. Alon came to New Orleans in 2003 and trained under Chef John Besh before studying in Italy in 2005. Returning to New Orleans in 2009, he opened Domenica in the New Orleans Historic Roosevelt Hotel. He has since opened Pizza Domenica and his namesake restaurant, Shaya, which was inspired by his Israeli upbringing. He works with the Crescent City Farmers Market and Odyssey House, supports the Hanukkah Bazaar at Temple Sinai, and teaches healthy eating alternatives in local schools. He will be cooking with his crew at Songs From the Heart. Photo credit Marianna Massey

Spencer Ludwig is a trumpeter, singer, producer, and dancer who rocks alligator shoes with smoking style and panache. His lyrical lead trumpet was featured in the music of multiplatinum-selling indie pop act Capital Cities. Not only did the Los Angeles-born, half-Filipino vocalist-instrumentalist perform on their full-length debut In a Tidal Wave of Mystery and the chart-busting double-platinum single “Safe and Sound,” but he also crisscrossed the globe with the band, opening Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour and tearing up the stage at Coachella, Bonnaroo, and more. Following a whirlwind two years in the group, Spencer returned to Los Angeles in December 2014 and commenced writing solo material that showcased both his trumpet talents and dynamic, diverse vocals. On his solo debut for Warner Bros. Records, he merges jazz virtuosity and pop style for a sound that simmers and swaggers with soul. He was recently selected to be part of the high profile TargetStyle campaign, debuting during a primetime NFL game on national television. Spencer has performed with everyone from award-winning indie acts like Foster the People to legendary groups like the Wailers, and for Songs From the Heart, he will be performing with some of the best local New Orleans musicians.
